Tempted To Do It Again

Jul 12, 2011 by

How many times do you wait until the last minute to do something? It really makes it easier to postpone it, doesn’t it?

In yesterday’s post I was mentioning that I had arrived at a point where I knew I had to do something different. I waited until the last minute again tonight. However, today is¬†different.

Instead of choosing to go to sleep I have made a compromise. I am typing in bed until I finish this post.

Now, granted, this won’t be a researched post. It probably won’t even be one of my better posts. The point is that it will be a¬†post. Period. I’m looking to gain some momentum.

As you know, that forward movement is what will help us change the patterns in our lives. It’s our way of telling the universe that we will not be defeated. We are setting an intention that, even if it’s just for today, we will follow through with that commitment we made. Consider it like a building block. Each and every time we move forward we can picture ourselves placing another brick on the foundation of our improved lives.

If you’re like me you could use some improvement.

Before we know it we will have a strong foundation. Not one that is build with straw, but one that is solid and that will sustain us during the difficult times in life. You know, those times that bring us to our knees and make us run back to the comfort of our addictions or escape? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to do something else that doesn’t make us feel so bad? I know I’m willing to work toward that.

One step at a time those temptations to screw things up will decrease. This is where having faith comes in too. When we don’t give in to the temptations and we stay on track we will overcome our sabotage. I have faith that I can do this. It hasn’t happened over night, but I’m still here…working on it until I get it right.

We all deserve to feel good and be happy. It’s a choice we make for ourselves, each and every moment. I’m willing to make better choices. I won’t be perfect, but I will be present. Tonight I choose to show up for my passion.
