In Praise of Happiness

Jun 29, 2011 by

I’m sitting in Burger King eating breakfast and reading The Won Thing by Peggy McColl. I only slept a few hours last night and I’m looking for an effective way to boost my energy for the day.

I get to a sentence in the book that reads

Just sit there, look around, and allow bliss to rise within you.

So I look out the window. Immediately I see a squirrel jumping around in the grass. There aren’t any other animals around. Just one squirrel having a good time.

It brought tears to my eyes.

The reminder?

Look around and you will experience joy. It’s there. All I have to do is make a place for it.
